Early Life.

Juan Martín Nero began riding and playing polo at a young age in his hometown of Trenque Lauquen, one of Argentina’s renowned polo regions. His calm temperament, exceptional anticipation, and tactical intelligence quickly distinguished him as one of the sport’s brightest young talents. He made his breakthrough in elite polo in 2004 when he replaced the injured Marcos Heguy for Indios Chapaleufú in the Argentine Open.

Playing Career.

Nero is widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive players in polo history. He earned the prestigious 10-goal handicap in 2008 after helping Ellerstina win the Argentine Open. In 2011, he joined La Dolfina, where he formed one of the most successful partnerships in modern polo alongside Adolfo Cambiaso, David Stirling, and Pablo Mac Donough.

Juan Martín Nero is considered one of the most accomplished and respected polo players of the modern era. While celebrated for his defensive mastery, he is equally admired for his sportsmanship, consistency, and ability to control the tempo of the game, making him an indispensable player in many of the world’s greatest championship-winning teams.
